In the Salvador International Airport - Deputy Luis Eduardo Magalhães - all facilities and services are in constant improvement. Situated 20Km away from the Bahia Convention Center and 37Km from the city center, the area is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape.

The airport occupies an area of 6.9 million square meters, among dunes of white sand and native vegetation, a perfect combination that attracts the eyes of every visitor. Another attraction is the access and way out of the airport. A tunnel formed by a grove of bamboos almost one kilometer long is one of the city’s picture postcard attractions.

Salvador International Airport receives 9.6 million passengers a year (Infraero, 2004). It has a terminal air cargo (4,985 m²), fingers with 11 boarding bridges and a parking garage for 1,400 vehicles among other facilities.

The terminal for passengers is the fourth largest airport infrastructure in Brazil, with a total area of 6 million square meters. Check-in offers 65 counters. Boutiques, restaurants, fast-food international chains, bookstores, gifts and souvenirs can be found in 112 commercial spaces.

The airport operates 220 daily domestic flights and 57 international flights per week, ranking Salvador as one of the main tourism gateways in Bahia and, consequently, in the Northeastern region, with a relevant participation in the tourism development of Salvador. Central bus station
